7. Social Media Consent

This guidance explains why we need to ask you for your parental consent for photographs of your child being used by Stoke Mandeville Junior Football Club. After reading this documentation, please sign your consent for your wishes on the Social media matter.

We live in an age in which digital technology has massively increased especially with the use of photography, and there has been publicity surrounding concern about the risk of a child or young person being identified by a photograph in the local press or via club social media platforms.

Stoke Mandeville Junior Football Club takes the view that the risk of a child being identified by a stranger is small and that, providing reasonable steps are in place in terms of appropriateness of the photography and protecting the full name and contact details of all our children, photography will be permitted. Stoke Mandeville Junior Football Club is mindful of the fact for some families; there may be reasons why a child’s identification is a matter of particular anxiety.

If you have special circumstances, either now or at any time in the future that would affect or change your consent on this issue please contact either your age group Team Manager or the Clubs Welfare Officer, Tracy Farrow-Stevenson to discuss the subject further.

Stoke Mandeville Junior Football Club will not use the personal details or full names of any child or young person in a photographic image, on film, the website, or in club-printed publications. If Stoke Mandeville Junior Football Club uses photographs of your children, the name of that child or young person will not appear in the accompanying text or photo caption unless we have your signed agreement.

By providing social media consent you will be giving permission to Stoke Mandeville Junior Football Club to use photographs and film of your child involved in football activities. These images may be used in any of the following ways:

• Stoke Mandeville Junior Football Club Website, Facebook page, Instagram, or Twitter feed.
• Stoke Mandeville Junior Football Club video for training or promotional purposes.
• Within the local or national media network.
