2. Code of Conduct


The aim is for all to enjoy the game and set high standards of sportsmanship and adhere to the rules of the game showing faultless respect at all times.

All Managers – Players and Spectators will play a role and support the RESPECT campaign to ensure that it is a success and that the authority and respect for Match Officials are reinforced.

MANAGERS /COACHES – COACH

-To help develop each squad member in both football and behavioural terms and give each squad member a chance.

-Act appropriately at all times during training,matches and events representing Stoke Mandeville FC.

-Treat the opposition with respect and ensure their experience of Stoke Mandeville FC is a good one at all times.

-Control emotions in training and matches.

-To enforce the Player and Parent/Spectator Code of Conduct.

PLAYERS – PLAY

-Play because you enjoy football, not to please someone else.

-Learn the rules and play by them.

-Listen and respond to what my coach/team manager is explaining positively.

-Accept and respect the decision of all match officials and managers. Do not argue,
Do not attempt to mislead the referee get on with the game with the respect the club expects.

-Play fairly – do not cheat, complain or waste time.

-Control your language and your emotions.

-Do not overreact when your team scores a goal.

-Shake hands at the end of the game – win,lose or draw.

-Respect your Opposition, your Club and your managers by setting an example at all times.

-Help, encourage and support your teammates – nobody makes mistakes on purpose.

PARENTS/SPECTATORS – WATCH

-Praise effort and performance more than results

-Set a good example of sportsmanship at all times and ensure that the experience of any player, manager, spectator and match official is a good one.

-Recognise skill, enthusiasm and sporting behaviour from both teams.

-Look for aspects to praise in players who might not otherwise get attention.

-Assess players with regard to their skills and attitudes.

-Praise good behaviour quickly.

-Help, encourage, support and show consistency.

Keep self-control and consider other spectators at all times.

DO NOT

-Demonstrate unacceptable behaviour that would bring our Club into disrepute.

-Use offensive, insulting, emotive and/or abusive language towards managers, players, match officials and other spectators at any time.

-Do not attempt to contest match official's decisions during or after the game.

-Attempt to coach or manipulate the players during matches.

-Ignore children who need help and support.

-Attempt to referee the game by appealing for matchplay decisions.

Any Managers, Club Officials, Players, Parents or supporters who breach the above code of conduct are at risk of termination of their membership within Stoke Mandeville FC without appeal depending on the offence
